My mother used to read this to me and show me the pictures when I was only 4 (I'm now 71). It made such an impression that I now have 2 copies (The original Wore out years ago), one of which is autographed.
Been thinking about reading it again soon, for the umpteenth time.
The illustrations alone are worth the cost of the book, but I think that I might hold off reading it to my kids if they are not a bit older than 4. Could be scary.

This book is extremely enjoyable and defies the movement of time. How appropriate that it finds itself here in digital preservation.
